NSU MIBC Launched MarXcellence 2022 With Samsung

To introduce Digital marketing to fresh graduates, “Samsung Presents MarXcellence 2022,” in a partnership with Intelligent Machines Limited, took place in NSU. The event was organized by North South University’s Marketing and International Business Club (NSU MIBC). Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden was associated as a hospitality partner as well.

The registration phase went from 19 to 30 March, and more than 553 teams registered for the competition. More than 2000 students from 60+ universities across the South-Asian region, mostly from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, participated in the event. The competition began on 1 April, where the participants had to complete three unique, rigorous, and grueling rounds. The Grand Finale was conducted on 23 April. Mr. Hwansung Woo, Managing Director and Country Manager of Samsung Electronics Bangladesh and the Title Sponsor of MarXcellence 2022 was present at the event as a chief guest.

At the event, he addressed the necessity of digital marketing and the contribution of youth to digitization. He said, “We are on the brink of the 4th industrial revolution, and digital marketing has become a game-changer. I feel very proud that the youth are very passionate about digital marketing and this event itself attests to this fact.”

The competition was arranged with three unique rounds and two workshops. The first round was an online competition in which the teams were given a real-life marketing case to solve in three days. Out of 553, 30 Teams qualified for the second round, where they had to come up with creative marketing strategies for new businesses and present them virtually to the judges. The participants got the opportunity to be groomed during the two workshops. Digital marketing experts administered the first one, where participants got the chance to get a gimp of using digital marketing tools effectively. The second one was conducted by an industry expert who discussed marketing promotions, research, and branding. 

The three winners received a remuneration of BDT 1,00,000, BDT 60,000, and BDT 40,000 respectively, as well as an opportunity to participate in the Robi Internship Program. Team SINBAD N CO from the University of Dhaka became the champion, Team Freaks and Geeks from the University of Rajshahi, and team Gameplan from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) secured the 1st and 2nd Runners Up positions.
