JCI Dhaka Founders, in partnership with Lightshore Network, has launched the “Hugs of Hope 2.0” winter relief initiative. This program aims to support vulnerable communities in northern Bangladesh, who are experiencing the intense cold wave currently sweeping across the region. This year’s initiative covers key districts such as Rangpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Panchagarh, and surrounding areas.
Phase 1: Rangpur Distribution – January 8
The first phase of Hugs of Hope 2.0 kicked off in Rangpur district on January 8, following the success of last year’s winter relief efforts. In collaboration with the Lal Sabuj Society, JCI Dhaka Founders distributed 100 double-layered winter blankets to residents and homeless individuals in need. This distribution brought essential warmth and relief to families struggling to cope with the severe weather.
Phase 2: Dinajpur & Nilphamari Distribution – January 10 & 11
The second phase of the campaign took place on January 10th and 11th, focusing on communities in Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Panchagarh, and nearby areas. Partnering with Alokito Kori, the local organization, JCI Dhaka Founders successfully distributed 138 double-layered winter blankets, providing timely support to those most affected by the cold.
