Best Aid Limited, one of the leading health tech startups in Bangladesh, has received investment from YY Ventures, an incubation and investment Social Business founded in partnership with ‘Yunus Centre’. According to a press release, the deal was signed by Best Aid CEO Mir Hasib Mahmud and YY Ventures Managing Director Shzeeb M Khairul Islam at the company’s headquarters in Grameen Telecom Bhaban.
The start-up, which has been working on digital health since 2020, has a team of 13 members, a panel of 67 specialist doctors, and more than 100 agents and 70 intern ambassadors. Among Best Aid’s successes is ICT Fund, inclusion in National Covid Portal Corona.gov.bd, Entrepreneurship World Cup 2021 Finalist, Imagine If Bangladesh’s 2nd Runner-up position, and SimCubator 2021’s 1st Runner position.
Mir Hasib Mahmud, the CEO of Best Aid, said, ‘We have been talking to YY Ventures about investments since last year. YY Ventures confirmed the investment in January. We will provide all the latest technology for health care services with the investment money. Our goal is to integrate Medical Health Assistants through artificial intelligence within the next few months. Research is also underway to provide advanced medical services using a combination of general services and IOT.’
‘There can be no comment about the investment currently because it is confidential. However, with the joint partnership of Best Aid and YY Ventures, we can do a lot with the latest technology in healthcare,’ added Mr. Hasib Mahmud. Ahmed Omar Yusuf, Best Aid’s chief operating officer; Alamin Pranto, Best Aid’s chief information officer; and Shehfaz Bin Rahim, YY Venture’s finance and accounts manager, attended the signing ceremony.
