Bizcomp Battle 4.0: Bangladesh’s Grand Stage for Future HR Leaders

In an ambitious move to bridge theoretical HR knowledge with real-world applications, the North South University Human Resources Club (NSU HR Club) has unveiled the country’s largest HR-focused inter-university business case competition, HR Calibration 4.0. presented by Bengal Tea with co-sponsorship from Global Brand, this event is a groundbreaking initiative to equip the next generation of HR leaders with critical skills and insights.

This year’s HR Calibration event kicked off on October 18, 2024, with a compelling workshop held at North South University’s Main Auditorium. The workshop, an integral first step in the competition, was designed to immerse students in strategic HR discussions while laying the groundwork for the rounds to follow. It delivered invaluable insights on HR challenges, team dynamics, and mental wellness strategies in the workplace.

The workshop was led by an impressive lineup of industry professionals, including Tajdin Hassan, CBO of The Daily Star and COO of Keeron; Sadman Sadik, an educator and author from 10 Minute School; and Md. Shihabuzzaman, a Merchandiser at Levi Strauss & Co. These speakers delved into the complexities of modern HR, focusing on employee retention, organizational behavior, and communication strategies that resonate in today’s business landscape.

Participants were introduced to advanced problem-solving frameworks, enabling them to approach challenging HR scenarios with a fresh perspective. The interactive nature of the session encouraged students from various academic backgrounds to apply their knowledge practically, cultivating creative thinking, strategic planning, and teamwork as essential skills for future HR professionals.

Following the workshop, the competition moves into its multi-phase format:

  • Phase 1: Participants submit online case solutions, with selected teams advancing to Phase 2.
  • Phase 2: Selected teams engage in an online workshop and Awareness Video round, followed by an on-campus solution presentation.
  • Phase 3: The top teams will tackle a live case challenge at a corporate headquarters, vying for top prizes and recognition at the Grand Finale, held at North South University.

HR Calibration 4.0 goes beyond traditional competitions; it provides a platform for young talent to showcase their HR acumen, creativity, and innovative thinking. Students participating in the event stand to gain invaluable industry insights, enhance their employability, and prepare for the evolving HR landscape, which demands adaptability, strategic thinking, and collaboration.
