Bangladesh University of Professionals Human Resource & Leadership Club (BUP HRLC) successfully completed the “House of Ventures”, the first of its kind start-up accelerator and incubation program. The event was launched on 26th March with the objective of creating a platform for entrepreneurs across Bangladesh.
The first round of the competition involved entrepreneurs across the country submitting their business ideas through a video and a written summary. 70+ teams participated in round 1 and the judge’s panel comprised Mohammad Ekram, CEO of Edutechs; Rafiq Islam, CEO, Safe wheel; Rashiq Haque, CEO, Onethread.
The top 42 teams attended the Bootcamp session arranged on 3 June, where speakers from Nagad, HandyMama, Sohopathi, SWAP, Dana MFS, HypeScout, GreenGrain, etc shared their valuable opinions, thoughts, and experiences. The next day the selected teams presented their business ideas in front of seven aspiring business leaders and investors.
After that top 10 finalist teams advanced to the most anticipated finale, “The Ventures Day,” which took place on 5th July, on BUP. The winners were Krishi Shopno, Peora, and Gohin, who will be receiving funding in exchange for the agreed-upon shares. A jury of renowned investors included Startup Chattogram, Maslin Capital Limited investors, and iDEA Project.
