The Rajshahi University (RU) has hosted the Grand Finale of the globally acclaimed student entrepreneurship competition, the Hult Prize, often referred to as the “Nobel Prize for Students.” This marks the ninth time the university has organized the prestigious event.
The finale took place on Wednesday (4 February) at the university’s Senate Building, beginning at 2 PM and concluding at 8 PM.
Among the finalists, Team “SIPSAFE” emerged as the champion. Team “Bunon Bazar” secured the first runner-up position, while Team “The Conquerors” claimed the second runner-up spot.
Speakers at the event highlighted the significance of the Hult Prize initiative. They noted that global platforms like the Hult Prize help students develop leadership qualities, innovative thinking, and a strong sense of social responsibility. Such initiatives, they expressed, play a vital role in shaping young entrepreneurs and empowering Bangladeshi students to represent the nation on international stages.
The Grand Finale was supported by several partners, including Khan Teheri Ghar, VRC Study Abroad, REMARK, Global Heights, and Valvoline.
The event was attended by the University’s Student Advisor, Professor Dr. Md. Amirul Islam, RUCSU General Secretary Salauddin Ammar, Science and Technology Secretary Tofail Tofa, along with students and guests from various departments.
The Hult Prize is an international, student-centered social entrepreneurship competition organized in collaboration with the United Nations. Recognized worldwide as the “Nobel Prize for Students,” the platform allows young innovators to propose sustainable and impactful business solutions to pressing global challenges.
