JCI Dhaka Founders, in collaboration with Lightshore Network and local partner Human Voice, has successfully completed the three-phase Green Future Project 2.0, an annual environmental initiative dedicated to restoring biodiversity, inspiring young minds, and strengthening climate resilience across Bangladesh.
This year’s project engaged three schools, reached over 700 students, and resulted in the planting and distribution of 265 trees across Dinajpur and Barisal. The initiative aligns with JCI Dhaka Founders’ commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action) and further demonstrates their dedication to fostering environmental sustainability.
Phase One: Launch at JAAGO Foundation School, Dinajpur
The first phase of the project kicked off at the JAAGO Foundation School campus in Dinajpur, where JCI Dhaka Founders and Lightshore Network planted 100 trees. The team also held an engaging awareness session, educating students on the importance of long-term tree care, environmental responsibility, and climate action. This phase is part of a broader effort to plant 100 trees across Dinajpur and Barisal, reinforcing JCI Dhaka Founders’ vision of a greener and healthier future.
Phase Two: Atrai High School, Dinajpur
The second phase took place at Atrai High School, Ramdubir Hat, Sadar, Dinajpur, on August 6, 2025. A total of 65 trees were planted and distributed, including 35 trees planted on the school campus and 30 saplings given to students to grow at home, encouraging personal responsibility for environmental care. The tree varieties included Mango, Jackfruit, Jam, Hog Plum, Neem, Mahogany, Krishnachura, and Guava. Students also participated in an awareness session designed to inspire climate action and cultivate long-term environmental thinking.
Phase Three: Final Phase in Barisal & Dinajpur
The third and final phase, completed in partnership with Lightshore Network and Human Voice, marked the conclusion of Green Future Project 2.0. In this phase, over 700 students were engaged in the planting and distribution of a diverse selection of fruit, medicinal, and forest trees. This closing phase emphasized hands-on learning, with trees planted on school grounds and saplings given to students to take home. This approach helped foster community participation and environmental ownership.
A Growing Legacy of Environmental Impact
Green Future Project 2.0 follows the success of last year’s initiative, where 500 trees were planted across Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Monpura, and Mirzapur in two phases. Through sustained yearly efforts, JCI Dhaka Founders continues to lead in climate action, ecological awareness, and empowering the next generation to protect nature.
This year’s project is a testament to the power of community partnerships, with local organizations, volunteers, and students coming together to create a lasting environmental impact. JCI Dhaka Founders remains dedicated to building a greener, more sustainable future for Bangladesh, one tree at a time.
