North South University, the country’s first private university, has successfully conducted a 3-day long blood donation drive at its campus in the Bashundhara residential area. North South University Social Services Club (NSUSSC) has organized the event in collaboration with the Quantum Foundation. The campaign took place from the 29th of March to the 31st of March.
The three-day event collected a total of 720 bags of blood. Donors were provided with a donor card that would allow them to collect one bag of blood immediately whenever they needed it. The club also offered refreshments and provided a certificate recognizing the donors’ invaluable contributions.
The campaign was visited by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of North South University, Prof. Atiqul Islam, and the faculty advisor, Md. Mofassel Hossain. They’ve expressed their good wishes to the club members for arranging such a fruitful campaign. Likewise, the President of NSUSSC, Ahamed Tahmid Zaman, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the students who donated their blood. He also added that this event successfully raised awareness regarding safe blood donation and motivated students to include themselves in the noble blood donation culture.
