A “Winter Clothing Drive 2022” will be organized by the North South University Social Services Club (NSUSSC), one of North South University’s best clubs. Although most people love winter because it brings warmth, comfort, and delicious food, but it’s like a curse for poor and homeless people. Poor and unprivileged people often suffer during the winter due to a lack of access to warm clothing, shelter, and heating. In addition, many of these individuals may not have the means to afford warm clothing or to heat their homes, which can lead to cold-related health problems such as hypothermia and frostbite. Moreover, due to extreme winter conditions, many rural people die from cold-related illnesses because they don’t have enough insulation or ways to warm themselves up.
So, as it does every year, NSUSSC reached out to help the poor, to spread love, warmth, and comfort among them, and ease some of their sufferings. This event is about helping people who don’t have a lot in society and making young people more caring. After all, it’s the young people of this country who carry the torch. Through this event, NSUSSC tries to make unprivileged people smile and let them know that they are not alone in their sufferings.
Since December 13, NSUSSC volunteers have been collecting winter necessities and donations from North South University students and respected faculty, and the final date for donations is January 2, 2023. On January 4, 2023, Team NSUSSC will go to Bogura to give warm clothes to people to share warmth and happiness.
