Known for the latest technology and newest innovation, Samsung has kept its streak unbroken by unveiling the power-packed devices of the flagship series for the year, the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S22 series. Packed with style and power, these devices are dubbed the “picturesque powerhouses.”
The Korean smartphone giant unveiled the Galaxy S22, S22+ & S22 Ultra phones globally on Wednesday, 9th February 2022. The phones come with new and improved hardware and updated features than last year’s flagship S series devices. The company has shrunk the display for both the Galaxy S22 & S22+ phones and made the bezels slightly thinner than last year. Although the S22 Ultra has 6.8 inches display like last year, the screen-to-body ratio has increased thanks to the slimmer bezel. The models in the S22 series have 1080p resolution which runs at 120Hz, whereas the touch sampling rate goes up to 240Hz.
Inside the series is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chips, while the European and select regions will also get Samsung’s new and improved Exynos 2200 chips. Both Galaxy S22 & S22+ features 8GB of RAM and a storage option between 128GB & 256GB. While Galaxy S22 Ultra has 8GB RAM which tops at 128GB storage and the 12GB variant starts from 256GB and tops at 1TB.
On the camera front, both S22 & S22+ feature the same camera module which consists of a 50MP wide lens, 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto camera with 3 times optical zoom. The selfie camera is a single 10MP lens. However, the S22 Ultra features a 108MP wide lens instead of the usual 50MP and there is an additional 10MP periscope Telephoto camera with 10x zoom capability. The selfie camera on the S22 Ultra is a 40MP lens.
Meanwhile, for the first time ever the Galaxy S22 Ultra features an S-pen, built right into the phone bringing the power of the Galaxy Note series right into the S22 ultra. This year Samsung has gone all-in with 5G and there is no 4G only option for the Galaxy S22 series. Samsung has been really popular with its high-end phones over the years. They have always provided great displays, excellent performance and some other great features. With the S22 series, that standard may even hold higher and break the limits once again.
