Shikho, one of the premier ed-tech start-ups in Bangladesh, has acquired Mainly Coding, a coding learning platform. According to a press release, the full cash acquisition was Shikho’s second in the last two months. Shikho is a Dhaka-based ed-tech company, which harnesses technology to make learning more accessible, affordable, and fun.
With Mainly Coding, students can manipulate codes online without installing or configuring anything. Learners can start programming in different languages using their phones or laptops as well as test their abilities. In addition, the platform also includes programming e-books and a problem-solving module –– democratizing access to resources in the Bengali language.
Shikho’s co-founder and CEO, Shahir Chowdhury, said in a statement, ‘We’ve been busy developing several unannounced products as we continue to enrich the most advanced and comprehensive, hyper-localized digital learning ecosystem in Bangladesh. The Mainly Coding platform, therefore, helps accelerate our strategy and immediately delivers more value for our learners.’
According to CrunchBase, Shikho has so far raised USD 1.6 million in funding from several global venture capital firms and is planning to announce yet another substantial round of funding soon. In addition, since its establishment on April 1, 2019, the company acquired the premier professional courses platform Bohubrihi in November of 2021.
