Less than 24 hours are left to register for the country’s largest and first-ever policy-making competition, EconProdigy. Organized by North South University’s Young Economists’ Forum (NSU YEF), EconProdigy has returned for its highly anticipated 7th edition. Their flagship national event seeks to bring together the brightest young minds from across Bangladesh: visionaries ready to craft transformative and forward-thinking policy solutions that can shape a more resilient and enduring future.
The registration window will close this Friday, October 31 at 12 PM. This year’s theme, “Equity – Inclusivity – Sustainability,” highlights the urgent need for balanced progress that leaves no one behind. Open to undergraduate students from all academic disciplines and universities, the competition encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and evidence-based policymaking. Teams must consist of two to four members, with cross-university participation strongly encouraged.
EconProdigy 7.0 features three dynamic rounds designed to test participants’ analytical acumen and communication skills:
- Beyond the Headlines – where participants will be given a case and dive deep into contemporary policy issues;
- Cross Talk – an engaging platform for debate and dialogue;
- Policy Dialogue – the Grand Finale that challenges teams to design a comprehensive and actionable policy framework and present it in front of some of the most esteemed economists and experts in the country.
The competition also offers an impressive total prize pool of BDT 3.5 lakhs, with BDT 1.5 lakh for the champion team along with the chance to write in Equilibrium, NSU YEF’s prestigious yearly publication on socioeconomic issues; 1.2 lakh for the first runners-up, and 80,000 taka for the second runners-up.
In the words of Ms. Afsana Ahmed, President of the Young Economists’ Forum, “EconProdigy 7.0 will stand as one of the most remarkable and impactful policy-making competitions in Bangladesh, inspiring the next generation of changemakers.”
Students with a passion for economics, public policy, and sustainable development are encouraged to take part in this landmark event. Interested participants can register here: https://forms.gle/bJDkUNcJ9Qb1M6LQ6.
